SECOND LIFE AKA SL 'Where your virtual dreams come true..'

  • I never thought a platform, would be that much fun for someone like me,who is only crazy about action/adventure gaming.Hi5 Linden Lab!
It's been almost 6 years that I have started to spend time on Second Life (the longest break I have ever given was only a few months,so we can say I log very often) and I do swear to you that I still have thousands of stuff that I have no idea about.
It's all because SL is limitless,Linden Lab gives you the chance to create anything you'd like to do.It has a base that players improve,so with some script or PS or animation knowledge, you can create anything you'd like to do in your virtual life. You can sell your products and earn money,REAL money.
There's a rumour that almost 1.5 million bucks is in the daily circulation.WHO KNOWS.But I know people who sells stuff in Second Life ,for a Real Living, lol.
1 Us Dollar equals to 250 lindens. For example,if you believe you are good at PS,you can create SKINS (skin that the avatars should have including, skin colors, frickles, make ups, facial hair etc). When quality of the product gets higher, the price gets higher as well (isn't it the way it should be anyways)
You can find a creepy skin which is like 5 lindens in the freebie stores,or 5000 from a PS king.
You can create 3d models aswell, the new trend is the Mesh 3d modelling for over a year.Imported mesh stuff looks way more realistic than photoshopped clothes,or built stuff which created already in the game.
You can work as anything you'd like. You can do real DJing in the virtual clubs via virtual dj progs. You can organize events,be a photogtapher or be a model,if you believe you avatar looks nice.I must say that I have seen people working as detectives or agents for roleplaying.Even escorts LOL,they should have been earning too much, cause too much people are hopeless in their real lives and hoping for something virtual.Anyway you can be anything you'd like to be.Also you can be anything besides being normal human beings, warriors, vamps, werewolves, vikings.
Can't say these jobs above, won't get you too much lindens for a real living when compared to creating stuff, however they will help you to avoid buying Lindens with PayPal.
But if you're saying you might have a little time for a platform like this for gaming and socializing but you don't have time and the patience to spend hours and hours for creating stuff,or to work hours for a little amount of money, you will have to buy lindens.
To be honest the very beginning of the game would be boring and it might look very complicated to someone who is stranger to gaming.Cause you will only know how to open your inventory, accept friend requests, fly and walk.Plus your avatar will probably suck, you will think your avi is so ugly while there are smexy avatars around. But if you recover the first weeks, you'll start to get used to it.
I highly recommend you not to buy lindens with your credit card, and start with freebies in the first weeks of your existence in Second Life.Cause as a noob you can waste your lindens to crap and get tricked by others. So it's better to learn things before buying lindens.^.^
There are many problems in the game but 2 of them are the ones I can't pass by.One is the technical issue which most of the online PC games have.LAG.When you're in a crowded place or in a place with too much things with high details, you can't escape lagging,so it's better not to rezz things and attach/drop things from your avi.
There are people that take the game way too seriously.2nd issue. I was told but I couldn't believe they could be that much. They kind of live in the game, they argue, they fight, they forget they are the ones behind all these avatars, don't know how to make fun of it,all drama kings and queens, aren't a shit in their real lives.Stay away from them and get a good crew like mine.^.^
And there are old men married with children behind female avatars. So boys, attention.
So,with the best and worst,it's a short preview of the weird but awesome place called Second Life.I would like to share all my experiences in 6 years, but too much things to say.I can only post some shoots of my avi Ele and some of my favorite places.Later fellas. x
PS:Choose a good name, cause you won't have the chance to change it.For further information or any questions contact Elenore Ceriano,in the game.I kinda enjoy helping noobies lol:)
